Feathered Finds | Sculpture | Year 7
A lesson in Murphy's Law:
I was booked on a two-day incursion with year 7, however when I arrived I discovered the materials for the project had not been ordered. This was a great lesson for us about flexibility and working with what you've got.
So we made a quick pivot to a 2-day sculpture project using storeroom scraps. I started the students off with observational practice, then planning and sketching, before building the bird.
The girls got really into it - we ended up foraging the school grounds for a large branch which was hung from the classroom ceiling with all their winged delights perched upon it.
